SP Fabrications to base business systems on ML's 'FirstBase'

SP Fabrications of Mill Hill, Blackburn, provider of quality sheet metal components and services, are the latest company to choose 'FirstBase' from ML System Services as the means to upgrade their business systems to match the effciency and accuracy of their customer service.

Starting life a few years ago with second hand sheet metalworking equipment and a commitment to "providing customers with right-first-time high quality cost-effective components and products" the company has backed its commitments with a series of major investments in the future.

The company now boasts impressive state-of-the-art CNC CAD and production Technology representing "A giant leap forward in our ability to cost-effectively process small batch work for a wide variety of clients", says Brian Norton, company director.

"We are looking to double our turnover and profit within the next 12 months, with the appropriate increase in  workforce; we have the expertise and the resources to do that"

"We were concerned that our business support procedures - document control, customer interfacing, complex production instructions - should be consistent with the standard of our products".

SP looked around what was available.

"It seemed that anything that came close to providing the functionality we were looking for was expensive, inflexible and would involve internal changes we were reluctant to make," says Brian.

"When we first met Joe Norris from Ml we were very impressed with his grasp of what our problems were and how to address them".

"We were very apprehensive the the FirstBase methodology sounded a bit too good - as if we were just hearing what we wanted to hear".

"Having now seen the process at first hand and viewed the results we are very enthusiastic about FirstBase.  We are very confident that it will provide the high quality cost-effective support that we need to match our customer services".
